She/Her | Registered dietitian
As an eating disorder dietitian, I believe in the power and potential of a nourished body. Our relationship with food is shaped by biology, lived experiences, identities, environments, and the systems we live within, so I approach each person's story with openness rather than assumptions. In our sessions, you can expect warmth, curiosity, gentleness, and my full attention.
You are a unique life to be humanized, deeply connected with, and fully experienced exactly as you are. Your lived experience is an asset to your recovery, and you deserve a dietitian who will take the time to understand you before making recommendations.
When I’m away from the practice, you can find me spending quality time with my favorite people. My daughters have given me the endearing nickname of “Certified Yapper”, so I’m probably doing that while drinking a latte with my bestie, hiking with my husband, making dinner with my neighbors, or crafting with my girls. In my quiet time, I love to read, draw, swim, and cuddle my dogs, Mikey W. Schmidt and Amy Grant (pictured here).
For the first decade of my career, I worked as a clinical dietitian in a large academic medical center, where I saw firsthand how often the healthcare system misses the mark in caring for folks in larger bodies. Nutrition care was frequently centered on restriction and lacked the nuance needed to support people's unique experiences, and over time, that approach stopped feeling like the right fit for me. Around that same time, I had just given birth to my daughter (now I have two), and I felt passionately that I didn't want her to grow up with the same poor body image and stressful relationship with food that I had experienced throughout my life. With the support of generous mentors, I discovered Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size. Learning about those paradigms ultimately led me to eating disorder care, where I help people heal their relationship with food with curiosity, compassion, and the belief that every person's story deserves to be understood.
